We will do our best to confine the design to the customers dimensions, however we take no responsibility for final measurements. These may not represent the final drawing of the kitchen.
  • Other suppliers and trades-people may use these drawings at their own risk and we can take no responsibility for any work done by others based on these drawings.
  • It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that the drawings conform to plumbing, gas fitting, electrical or any other building regulations.

Lead Times

  • No bench tops will be ordered without confirmation of measurements in writing/drawing from either the customer, installer or professional trades person, which could affect lead times. No other forms of communication will be accepted.
  • These lead times may alter depending on factory work-loads, staff illness, material availability etc. You will be advised in advance of any delays but no consequential claims will be accepted for any reasonable delay in quoted lead-time.
Pick ups
  • Pick up is from our warehouse located at 243-249 Bush Road, off Albany Highway and Upper Harbour Highway on the North Shore, Auckland. The warehouse is run by Kitchen Cabinets and Stones.
  • Pick up times are on our website. These are subject to change. The warehouse is not open on public holidays unless stated.
  • We aim to offer same day pick up if orders are placed and the transaction has completed PRIOR to 12pm on the day. Provided all items are in stock.
  • The invoice or order number must be presented for pick up. Upon receiving an order, it is the customer's responsibility to check and make sure the correct cabinets have been given and that the boxes are sealed with no damage BEFORE signing the docket.
  • By signing the docket, the customer acknowledges that goods conform to the requirements of the purchase order. Goods are then considered “accepted” and do not have a quality issue.
  • Warehouse pick up orders are loaded by the customer themselves into their vehicle to avoid any disputes of damage. It is at the warehouse teams discretion to assist with loading.
  • All customers must allow us 48 hours notice from placing an order to picking up from the warehouse.

  • Assistance will be required if the order contains any tall units/ panels or bench tops or heavy items. If this cannot be supplied by the customer, another person will be sent which will incur an extra fee dependent on location.
  • In some rare occurrences, delivery may be postponed to ensure a safe delivery of the items.
  • 3 days' notice must be given of any changes to the scheduled delivery date.
  • Usually we cannot be more specific than “morning” or “afternoon” when scheduling delivery. However we will call you once the carrier arrives at our warehouse to give between ½ hour and 1 hour notice of delivery.

  • The customer is to provide us with as much information as possible on the location prior to delivery, e.g. Gate codes, steep driveways, multiple driveways, dogs etc. to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Before accepting the goods, count the number of boxes to ensure all items have been delivered, and are correct (It is not necessary to open the boxes at this stage). The number of boxes should match the number of items on the con note. You must report any missing boxes within 24 hours of receiving your order. Check that the packaging has not been damaged during transportation. Anything that is not satisfactory, note on the delivery docket what is damaged or missing, or do not sign it. • It is the client's responsibility to ensure adequate site access and secure storage for delivered goods. If this has not been done and the carrier is required to return to site at another time, an additional charge may incur.
  • Flat packed cabinets come boxed up. It is the client's responsibility to ensure that they can be placed in an area where no damage will occur to either cabinets or floors.
Installation
  • We don't offer a free at home consultation, in order to keep our prices competitive the initial price estimate is done base on the customer plan or kitchen layout, if the initial price estimate is within your budget, we then send a professional installer to double check your measurements.
  • Alternatively if you would like someone to plan the kitchen for you for a small consultation fee of $100 we can send a professional installer to plan the kitchen out for you and make you a layout. We then price the kitchen based on this layout. Should you choose to go ahead with our kitchen installation we will discount the installation by $100.
  • In many instances an installation will not be able to be completed at one time - for example:
    • When templates need to be taken for bench tops,
    • Where part of the kitchen needs to be installed before other dimensions can be determined,
    • Where special or indent items have not yet been received into store.
  • Range hood installation - please note that the installation of the Range Hood (including cut-outs in cabinetry for vents and electrical sockets) is not included in any installation quotes, however our installer is usually able to provide such a service at an additional cost.
  • It is the customer's responsibility to coordinate with the kitchen installer, range hood installer and electrician.
  • It is the installer's and/or customer's responsibility to check all items supplied (for size, colour, specification and quality) before installation. Our liability will be for the replacement of faulty goods only - not removal and re-installation cost.
  • Note: some panels are usually supplied over-sized to allow scribing by the installer - if required. All panel sizes must be checked before installation.
  • All screws and fixings necessary to assemble the cabinets are included in the flat packs. Any screws or fixings to install the cabinets eg. wall fixings, screws to join the cabinets to each other or anchor to the floor are NOT included. These must be purchased by the customer from their local hardware store.
Flooring
  • Our kitchens utilize a standard 150 mm toe-kick. They are designed and recommended to be installed on top of the finished floor.
  • If you choose to install the kitchen before the flooring, the toe kick may not fit. This may also cause problems with dishwasher and fridge height clearances. You will need to make arrangements for your installer to either place the units on blocks of the appropriate thickness during installation or to cut down the toe kicks. This may incur an additional charge.
Appliances
  • We will use our best efforts to ensure that all cabinets are adjusted to accommodate your appliances - provided you have made the details available to us. However we cannot guarantee that they will fit.
  • It is the responsibility of the customer to check the fit of all appliances before installation of the cabinetry and to make the appropriate adjustments if necessary. We can accept no responsibility for extra costs incurred should this not be done.
  • Please note that it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that appliance manufacturer's requirements and/or building codes are complied with. We can accept no liability for consequential damage caused by incorrect installation of the appliances.
Returns
  • We don't accept returns due to change of mind, so please choose your items carefully. For example, if a cabinet does not fit your space, or you change your mind about the colour or finish, we are unable to accept returns. If an item is faulty we will meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

  • If a claim has been successful, some items may not be in stock as they may require production in order to be supplied. This estimated time of production is variable due to factory conditions, supply chain management, and is subject to wait times exceeding what may normally be expected for an item which has been purchased.
    • Kitchen Cabinets and Stones reserves the right to provide an estimated timeframe in which the item will be produced, but this is subject to change. We will try to notify you of any changes where possible.

The written claim must be made within 30 days after the defect would have become reasonably apparent, or if the defect was reasonably apparent prior to installation, then the claim must be made prior to installation.
    • If an item is installed, and later found to have been defective, the claim will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Defective items should not be installed, as installation is an indication of accepting the condition to be fit for installation.
  • The claim to Kitchen Cabinets and Stones must include the following:
    • Proof of purchase.
    • The name of the original purchaser and the order number that the product was purchased in.
    • The date on which the defect became apparent.
    • The name of the affected product and description of which part of the product is affected.
    • Photos of the affected product, including a close-up of the fault or defect, and if possible, a photo of any labels on the product or packaging it was packed in.
  • The warranty is personal to the original purchaser of the product purchased and used in New Zealand and is not transferable.
  • The product must be installed in accordance with all applicable legal requirements.
  • The claimant agrees to provide information in relation to the installation and/or maintenance of the product reasonably requested by Kitchen Cabinets and Stones in assessing any claim.
  • All other products applied to or used in conjunction with Kitchen Cabinets and Stones products, must be applied, used, installed and maintained in accordance with the relevant manufacturer's instructions.
  • This warranty does not cover:
    • Products not purchased from an authorized Kitchen Cabinets and Stones distributor.
    • Products which have not been paid for in full.
    • Products which are re-sold or re-supplied or constitute secondhand goods.
    • Normal wear and tear.
    • Usage other than normal personal, domestic or household use.
    • Assembly and installation that is not in accordance with supplied instructions.
    • Defects which have been disclosed as a feature or limitation of the products in any literature published by Kitchen Cabinets and Stones.
    • General colour fading, discolouration or damaged due to direct and indirect light (exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided).
    • Slight variations or differences in the visual features of the products inherent within the manufacturing process.
    • Damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, improper handling or failure to follow supplied care and maintenance directions (please refer to our website for maintenance and care guides).

    • Damage or problems resulting from alteration, modification, incorrect adjustment, operation or repair or use of the product which is inconsistent with supplied product instructions (such as, but not limited to, cutting a product and failing to seal the cut edge appropriately), or using with inappropriate accessories.
    • Damage, problems or failure caused by acts of God, fire, wind, lightning, flood, storm, vandalism, earthquake, war, civil insurrection, pests, vermin, insects, spiders, microorganisms, or interference by foreign objects or matter affecting the product such as dirt, debris, soot or moisture.
    • Damage, problems or failure caused by extreme weather conditions, including, but not limited to, hail, salt, or other harsh substances.

For more information on the MBIE building code standard, which is used for the purposes of determining faults in accordance with the Building Code Act 2004, please visit www.building.govt and find the relevant documents relating to 'Tolerances, materials and workmanship.'
    • With regards to measurements advertised, standard sized doors will be usually 3mm less than the overall cabinet size. For example, a 400mm base cabinet will have a door of 397mm width as a standard size. Our upper and lower tolerance for sizing faults is ±2mm, meaning a door which is 395~399mm would be considered non-faulty with regards to the example above.
    • With regards to doors and/or panels bowing, our upper and lower tolerance is set at the standard of 3mm per meter of door or panel. This measurement is taken by placing the panel or door on a completely flat surface and measuring the distance at the widest point between the flat surface and the door. For example, a 2-meter door would have a tolerance of up to 6mm.
  • Kitchen Cabinets and Stones warrants that it will, at its discretion, as sole remedy for breach of this warranty elect to:
  • Supply a replacement for the defective product; or
    b) Rectify or repair the defective product; or
    c) Pay the cost of the replacement or rectification of the defective product.

If a defective product is repaired or rectified, the original warranty period will continue to apply based on the original date of purchase of the relevant product.

If the affected product has been discontinued, Kitchen Cabinets and Stones may offer, at its option, a replacement with a similar product. Kitchen Cabinets and Stones does not warrant that replacement will fit any existing fixtures or chattels, which include, but is not limited to, appliances and/or components, sinks, taps, dishwashers, ovens, stovetops, range-hoods, plumbing, electrical, flooring, windows, walls, ceilings and other cabinetry or furniture.
  • In order to assess a claim, it is the claimant's responsibility to arrange the return of the product in question to Kitchen Cabinets and Stones for assessment.
  • The claimant may be charged a fee for labour or service if:
    • The issue with the product is not covered by this warranty
    • There is no fault or defect with the product.
  • Kitchen Cabinets and Stones is liable only to the extent of the amount paid to us for products, and/or the costs associated with completing any remedial or repair work which is determined to be as a result of Kitchen Cabinets and Stones failing to comply with the aforementioned guarantees.
    • In no event shall Kitchen Cabinets and Stones be liable for any special, consequential, incidental or indirect damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use of or inability to use the products, even if Kitchen Cabinets and Stones are aware of the possibility of such damages and known defects.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, all warranties, conditions, liabilities and obligations other than those specified in this warranty are excluded.
